Tuesday Market
Valentine's Day is popular among the young here and the balloon vendors were everywhere. It's a wonder what with such huge bunches of balloons that the vendors aren't lifted right into the sky!

I made my annual visit to the Tuesday Market, an outdoor market that covers acres and is filled with an incredible array of stuff from furniture, clothing, domestic wares, food, produce, pets, hardware, toiletries, to electronics and more. Every year I discover more to explore. These are some of the things that captured my interest this year.

These are the inexpensive, tough plastic totes that everyone in San Miguel carries with them daily - myself included.

These are colorful piles of ribbons, zippers, thread, and buttons.

I loved the way the undies are displayed!

Nuts and candies.

With such a gorgeous display like this one, it is tempting to indulge. Strawberries, however, are prone to carry tourist-unfriendly bacteria. I resisted.

A couple of fellows were cooking pork rinds in a big steaming vat of oil.

Then way in the back among the hardware, I founded the junk. This is a pile of thin metal discs, just the kind of stuff that I could use in my found object sculptures. Do I dare bring junk back with me from Mexico? I'm holding off for the time being.
